Pictures of the new Revmaster- R-3000 engine.

http://contactmagazine.com/CH601XL/Revmaster_R-3000.html

The block ( case) is a Pauter case. Has main bearing saddles like a Chevy V8, , also a removable top cover like a Franklin engine. Its 3000 cc, 110 HP. Dry or wet sump.

Pauter is a long time maker of high end race VW parts. They make cases, crankshalfs, rods, heads, cam, pistons etc.

Bob Barrows had an engine concept where he was getting 80 hp out of a
combination of A-65 case, C-85 jugs and 0-200 crank and he thought he could
sell it for $6500 with all fresh parts. He never went ahead and did anything
with it. I like the concept.

That will work. Wouldn't want to pull anymore power from the A-65 case, its not as strong as the C-85- 0-200 case. Also the A-65 acc. case with a good oil pump cavity are getting harder to find.

I have 2 Cont A-75's set aside for future use. Also some A-80 pistons, but they are a lot heavier than the A-65-75 pistons, so I may not ever use them. Dan R.

When I was down at Bob picnic coupe weeks ago, there was a Lyc - 65 that he was rebuilding for someone. 3- of them are in my hanger that I am storing for a friend. Dan R.

Sounds great but would want through bolts.

Also, the Thatcher kit guy was just here and a two place is in works with
Revmaster engine. Funny, was reading this on here about the engines and
there was a knock on the door. Within minutes he had mentioned the
Revmaster with a certain prop. I'll keep you posted.

By the way, what's the biggest engine Patrol to fly so far? I have yet to
fly one and would love the chance.
